Sal De Riso's Women's Day Pastries in Minori
If you're on the Amalfi Coast this weekend, Sal De Riso has something special for International Women's Day.
The famous pastry chef in Minori is making two desserts just for March 8th. The first is called "Mimosa Innovativa" — vanilla-soaked sponge cake layered with Italian chantilly cream and wild strawberries. Light, creamy, not too sweet.
The second is "Sapore d'Amore," a soft risen cake with candied pineapple, fresh strawberries, and Bourbon vanilla. It's fluffy and a little tropical. Both are available to eat in the shop or take home as gifts.
Dinner with Live Music
The restaurant is also doing a special dinner on March 8th at 7:30 PM. There's live music and entertainment from Rosario Sepe. The dress code is "brillante" (sparkly, glittery — you get the idea).
My favorite things at Sal De Riso? The Panarea (pistachio cake), Etna (a little volcano-shaped pastry that actually looks like lava), and any of the cornetti they make fresh every morning. I try to have breakfast there whenever I can. Starting your day at Sal De Riso is just... it's perfect.
Most tourists go for the lemon stuff, which is great. But if you're there this weekend, try the mimosa cake. Or better yet, grab a cornetto and one of the Women's Day specials to take home.
