The Sorrento Peninsula is about to explode with color, confetti, and pure carnival madness — and if you're anywhere near the Amalfi Coast this week, you absolutely need to get in on the action.
From February 15 to 22, towns across the peninsula are rolling out parades, giant puppet processions, inflatable villages, and even a Jurassic Park-themed carnival. Whether you're traveling with kids or just want to see Pulcinella musicians marching through ancient piazzas, there's something for everyone.
Here's your complete guide to Carnival 2026 on the Sorrento Peninsula 🎭
Sorrento — Carnival of Wonders
Sorrento goes all-in with two packed days in Piazza Angelina Lauro and along Corso Italia.
- Sunday, Feb 15 (10:00–13:00): The "Villaggio dei Gonfiabili" — a massive inflatable village with magic shows, puppet theater by the Fratelli Mercurio, and baby dance sessions.
- Tuesday, Feb 17 (from 15:30): The grand finale — Carnival of Wonders. A huge parade of floats and costumed characters rolls from Piazza Veniero to Piazza Lauro. Think Shrek, the Smurfs, the Little Mermaid, Zootopia — all with interactive musical performances.

Sant'Agnello — Folk Puppets & Sea Parade
Sant'Agnello brings two completely different vibes to Piazza Matteotti:
- Sunday, Feb 15 (10:30): Folk Puppets Parade — giant puppets, marching bands, and confetti cannons filling the streets.
- Tuesday, Feb 17 (15:30): Sea Parade — theatrical marine-themed floats and ocean-inspired giant puppets winding through town.

Piano di Sorrento — Family Fun at Piazza Cota
Piazza Cota transforms into a family playground with jugglers, entertainers, and bouncy castles.
- Sunday, Feb 15 (10:30): Opening celebrations
- Tuesday, Feb 17 (15:00): Afternoon party with special appearances by Masha and the Bear mascots and interactive play paths for little ones.

Vico Equense — Jurassic Park Carnival 🦕
This one's wild. Piazza Marconi in Vico Equense is going full prehistoric on Sunday, Feb 15 (10:00–13:00) with the "Carnevale Jurassic Park" — dinosaur-themed installations and entertainment that promise to be unlike anything else on the coast. Part of the "Art & Fun" project under the Metropolitan City of Naples.

Seiano (Vico Equense) — Stilt Walkers & Costume Contest
The hamlet of Seiano hosts its own carnival on Saturday, Feb 15 at 15:30 at the Ex Plesso Scolastico – Centro La Zattera. Expect stilt walkers, jugglers, children's entertainment, and a best costume prize. Free entry!

Termini (Massa Lubrense) — The Grand Tradition
The legendary Carnival at Termini runs the longest, with historic allegorical float parades on February 15, 17, and 22 — officially closing out the carnival season on the entire peninsula.

The Carnival Spirit

Getting There — Traffic Tips
During the parades along Corso Italia and in the main piazzas, expect temporary road closures and traffic changes. Local authorities recommend using public transport or parking in peripheral areas to enjoy the festivities stress-free.
All events are part of the metropolitan program "Dal profano al sacro" (From the Profane to the Sacred) — a testament to how deeply carnival is woven into the cultural identity of Campania.
Don't miss it — grab your mask, your confetti, and head to the nearest piazza! 🎉
